Book Description
This book is meant to serve as my surrogate.
I want to knit with you, just as if I was sitting at your side and we
were discussing each step along the way. Please, do not read this book
without a needle in one hand and sock yarn at your side. I have divided
the book into three sections: Overview, The Methods, and The Socks.
Please read Overview to be sure you have the materials, and then turn
to your preferred sock, Cuff-to-Toe or Toe-to-Cuff. We're going to work
together and refer back to the methods section as we need it.
The methods are listed with illustration
at the beginning for easy reference. The wonder of these socks is whether
we are knitting from the Cuff-to-Toe or Toe-to-Cuff, we will be using
the same cast-on method and the same heel. Mark the methods section
so that you can easily flip to the technique.
After mastering each new technique, we
will have time to rest and knit in the round for several inches. Liken
the time to taking a coffee break and relaxing before tackling the next
new method.
I have chosen the one circ method since
I can easily incorporate the two socks at once for those of you who
suffer from the 'second sock' syndrome. However, the methods described
in the book can be applied to your favorite sock knitting technique.
